The Trylon About the Trylon
The Trylon microcinema is the home of Take-Up Productions, and screens classic films every week. We operate a pair of Century 35mm projectors donated by the University of Minnesota, as well as 1080p/24 digital projection and 8 channel sound. Our auditorium holds 50 classic rocker style cinema seats. The Trylon accepts cash only at the door, advance tickets can be purchased online.
Rental
The Trylon is available Monday and Thursday evenings, plus weekend afternoons. Since the Trylon runs on a quarterly calendar, there are a limited number of rental slots available. We recommend booking reservations well in advance. Rental rates vary according to time of day, day of the week, length of program, technical needs, and the nature of the program, with a base rate of $90/hr. The adjacent art gallery XYandZ is also available for rental.
About Take-Up
Dedicated to screening classic films, Take-Up runs the Trylon cinema and presents screenings in neighborhood theaters including the Heights and the Riverview.
The Trylon features 50 deluxe rocker seats, a 20 foot screen and our pair of Century Model SA 35mm projectors.
Discount cards
Discount cards are $25 for 5 uses, and can be redeemed up to 30 minutes prior to any screening.
